Like Microsofts' Vista, this software is all hookum and no substances. There is no improvement over the previous Powerpoint 2003 program, which is what I hoped to find. In fact, the menu screens appear to be the only change and they have been made much harder to intuit and use.

New to Internet Marketing? Decide and Focus, or Quit!

When you first get involved with Internet Marketing you'll discover there are unlimited opportunities for income. For example, there is the GoogleCash opportunity where you simply direct the traffic clicking on your ads to a merchant's website and collect an affiliate commission. Or, you might choose to build a content-rich theme site over a period of many weeks and use it to earn Adsense income and to earn affiliate income. Or build dozens of "quick and dirty" Adsense sites in hours. Or you can build mini-sites for affiliate marketing. Or you can blog for money. You could profit from ebay in a variety of ways. You could write an information product, or choose to sell physical products. And this is only a partial list! Internet Marketing has something to suit (almost) everyone.

But the reality is that each opportunity probably calls for you to learn more than just one skill, and buy and learn more than just one software tool. For example if you choose to get involved with the Adsense opportunity you can end up using a keyword research tool to identify keywords to focus on, an HTML editing tool to build your site, graphics software to build the graphic header, the blog and ping technique with a junk blog to get indexed in a hurry, RSS to build-up the content on your site, perhaps a separate good quality blog to improve your rankings in the search engines, perhaps another software tool to build a site map, and so on. The different Internet Marketing opportunities have their own Tools of the Trade!

For each of these tools you need to research which one to use; buy it; learn how to use it; then to put into practice. Some individual tools, for example some of the sophisticated software to make automatic post to blocks have quite a steep learning curve, and it can genuinely take many hours simply to become familiar with the software, and many more to understand how to apply it correctly.

But if you're human, and interested in making money (and why else would you be here?) it is all too easy to be tempted to explore other opportunities while you are still in the middle of making a previous opportunity work. In fact, you probably asked for it! Your research probably put you on the mailing lists of many Internet Marketing experts who send you news of the latest and greatest every day ... and these folk are masters at turning-on your greed glands. From personal experience (me, my friends and my family) I suspect the majority of people who decide to dive into Internet Marketing but never succeed in making a serious penny simply get bogged down with partially implemented opportunities.

The solution is simple but unfortunately contrary to human nature (at least for many of us). It requires four steps:

Give yourself the luxury of exploring the opportunities ... but with a specific time limit, during which you commit up-front to starting nothing and to buying nothing until that time limit is up. This research is NOT trivial. You are not just looking at the income potential of the different Internet Marketing opportunities ... you need to look at the commitments in terms of initial time and ongoing time; whether income is fast or slowly builds up; whether there is out-of-pocket risk or just time-wasted risk; are you prepared to wander to the "dark side" a little (black hat SEO) or is your nature to stick to the straight and narrow; do you want to be dealing with individuals, or just nameless, faceless masses? Do you have a technical nature? Do you have access to someone who does if you need help?

Make the decision. Make it logically .... then test to see how your gut feels about it. When it feels right, commit. I mean, FULLY commit.

Pursue the chosen opportunity to completion, where "completion" means you fail beyond recovery, or you succeed in making a level of income that you considered to be a success for the technique. Learn what you need to; buy what you need to; then DO IT. And be prepared - this often means facing fears; fear of minor failure (starting a technical area where you are a novice), fear of rejection (asking others for links, knowing 90% will tell you "no" in the early days), and the big one ... fear of project failure. Your mind can play odd games with you ... if you move to another opportunity before you give this one your all, you've not really failed, have you? Whereas if you DO give it your all and it doesn't work out ... then you'd have to face your failure.

And while you are pursuing the opportunity discipline yourself not to pursue or even explore different Internet marketing opportunities. Unless you know you have superb discipline this means you do not read e-mail's, newsletters, or sales pages from gurus promoting products that do not relate directly to your opportunity; and do not even read e-mail's, newsletters, or sales pages promoting improved versions of products that are supposed to be improvements on those products you are already using in pursuit of your opportunity. Make what you have, work.

Even if, on completing one opportunity, you choose to go onto a second or even a third entirely different one, doing so in this focused manner means you will probably complete three entire opportunities to a satisfying level of success before you would have achieved even one to a partial level of success if you'd been attempting all three simultaneously. I'm serious; multi-tasking often means a factor of three or four times the elapsed duration to completion of any project. Internet Marketing is no exception.

Just as important, you will actually have mastered the individual skills involved in the opportunities you pursued to completion; this contrasts nicely to having only a fingertips grasp of a variety of different tools and techniques, as is the inevitable outcome if you fail to focus.

In Internet Marketing, this mastery has rewards; you can repeat your success more quickly. You can outsource tasks, from a position of complete proficiency (always a good position from which to outsource). And you can usually transfer some or all of the skills to another Internet Marketing opportunity in such a way as to make success in the new arena more certain, and more speedy. Not a bad combination!

I am a software tech. I got tired of this fans hum, and started looking elsewhere-

1. I tried the ASUS Neptune K7 CPU Fan, & was no good (but quiet/hot)- did not cool as well as the GOOD stock Intel fan!

2. Zalman fans... weren't any better (VERY hard to mount, and don't cool as well as the Intel!).

Bottom line- Live with the low Intel hum (tune it out/don't dwell on it...!), but excellent cooling (read the reviews!)!

Customer Review: Does its thing but very loud

This relatively low profile (for its class) fan/heatsink does what it's supposed to very well on my 2.93ghz Celeron mod machine, but it is loud to the point of distraction. (I can easily hear it 20+ft away & down the hall.) I wish I knew the db specs on it because I would have a great gauge on what to look out for in the future.

If you can live with the noise and are still working with socket 478, it's a very standard & no pain install, and it'll do what you need. Otherwise, it might be best to look elsewhere.

Rated four because I don't have great airflow in my mod machine but this fan/heatsink does its thing anyways. Rated two (I'm being nice actually) for the noise. The final Three rating is an average.

I get compliments about this case all the time. I have a macbook pro and it fits the computer very well. Had a mini accident which the computer survived as well as the case for the most part. The only down side is that it scratches oh so easily. But, nothing a little black spray paint cannot fix I hope. Otherwise worth the money.

I was very excited to find this laptop case available on Amazon. I just purchased a nice laptop and wanted something compact and very study to protect it. Their website shows this case being dropped from 10 feet in the air with no noticeable damage to the laptop inside. Now that's protection!

The case itself is very attractive. I love the look of the black aluminum, and it has a professional look and high quality feel. The case comes with several long pads that you add or subtract from the case, depending on the size and shape of your laptop. My laptop fit perfectly inside the case and is held down with a velcro strap. Opposite the laptop, the case has a place to hold a few small files, and in front of the file holders there are three pouches for power cords, a cell phone, a mouse, etc. It also comes with a shoulder strap that attaches very securely to the case.

Now the down side - the case is very thin, thinner then Matias specifies, and when I placed my power brick in one of the accessory pockets the case would not close unless I pushed down too hard for comfort (I felt like the power brick was pushing in the top of the laptop in order to close the case). This was without adding any files to the file holder.

My laptop is less than 1.5" thick, and they specify a maximum laptop thickness of 1.75" for this case, so I was very surprised by this issue. The manufacturer also says: "Internal case dimensions are actually 1.25" (3.2 cm) thicker than indicated by Maximum Laptop Size values". That would leave me with over 1.5" of extra space for my 1.25" thick power brick. Seems like it should fit, but not so because of the file holder dividers and accessory pouches.

In order to fit my power cord and power brick in the case I had to cut out the file holder and pouches. The file holder area of the case has three thick dividers that, once removed, made enough room for my power brick and accessories. I was not happy about having to do this, but I wanted to keep the case and a case that cannot hold the power cord and power brick is useless.

This is a hard product for me to rate. I am very happy with the look and build quality of the case, but very disappointed with the width of the case and the accuracy of information provided by Matias. I will keep the case, but if you decide to buy I highly recommend that you measure the thickness of your laptop as well as any accessories that you want to place in the case. Think carefully about what you want/need to put in the case. Your power brick might just fit, but then there is no room for a magazine or files because the magazine will make the power brick push into your laptop.

I am giving 5 starts for look and build quality, and 2 stars for design and communication. Overall rating = 3 stars.

Public perceptions of mental health issues have changed dramatically over the last fifteen years, and nowhere is this more apparent than in the rampant overmedication of ordinary Americans. Customer Review: Not a Mind Numbing Read.....

If you think pharmaceutical companies, drug distributors, pychiatrists, phsychologists, therapists (both real and armchair), and family physicians who urge the widespread use of brain altering medications for their patients are on the right track, this book isn't for you. If, however, you believe that our nation is becoming increasingly over-medicated, especially for mild "psychiatric disorders" that one could easily take care of with proper nutrition, exercise, and therapy, this book is a must read. Barbers' arguement is simple: psychiatric drugs are not necessarily the proper treatment for most patients; in fact, more minor psychiatric "disorders" such as depression, anxiety, etc. should be controlled, if possible, by cognitive behvaior therapy or lifestyle changes. Psychiatric drugs are advertised second only to vehicles on television, and there are more lobbyists for big Pharma than there are member of Congress, according to Barber. Drug Companies hire attractive women to pawn the "latest miracle pill", (regardless of whether or not their college degrees are in medicine), to promote what often ammounts to "feeling good" rather than effectively trying to treat mental illness. Listen People: We are not biologically put together to always "feel good." Human are hard wired at times to feel jealousy, anxiety, selfishness, fear, anger, and yes, even depression. It simply goes with the territory.

While Mr. Barber is extremely respectful of serious mental illness (bi-polar, schizophrenia, personality disorder, etc..), and does state that in some cases psychiatric drugs help considerably, they do NOT necessarily help treat milder patients, and in many patients only create more problems than to begin with. (Such as suicidal thoughts, drug dependency, weight gain/loss, and so on).

Having recently read a staggering article in our local newspaper regarding the ever rising ammount of psychiatric drugs in our waterways, Barber's book is an eye opener. With around ten percent of women in our country on some form of psychiatric drug and around five percent of men and with the numbers increasingly rising, we are in trouble. We are literally intaking mind altering drugs with or without a doctor's prescription. I found it difficult to pour a glass of water after reading this book and will most likely have to resort to calling Culligan just to keep my neurons in order. As the human brain is seemingly infinite and perhaps more complicated than the universe itself, we need to protect ourselves from the onslaught of big Pharma telling us to feel more "happy, well-rounded, thin, pretty, sexually charged" just by popping a pill. Remember, the scientific data surrounding medications for mental health are so insignificant it's laughable. Trust your gut instincts. Hate to tell you, but Prozac isn't going to make you that charming, anyway. After you're comfortably numb you'll still want the English Bulldog, and the new Nordic Trak, and the Volkswagon with Big Ten and Ivy League stickers, only to wake up and realize that you still feel like a loser. Most positive change, (most), comes from within.

A Psychology student in college, I found this book both well-written and insightful. Barber's writing is fluid and informational without bogging itself down in medical terms and rendering itself unreadable to those interested in the topic. Definitely recommended.

Customer Review: Poison pill among sugared reviews

I am not trying to take away from the importance of the book's subject, quality of author's prose, or the general conclusions that Mr. Barber makes about American society members' happy embrace of the magic pill as an istant solution to almost any problem life throws at them. However, I disagree with the author's liberal use of a key statistic - that "66 percent of the global antidepressant market was accounted for by the United States" - a phrase singled out and repeated on the cover jacket, and reviews, and thus removed even further from clarifying context. Given Mr. Barber's apparent knowledge of the subject matter, I believe he should have made clear that the quoted percentage is based on dollar sales, not patients or even prescriptions. As US prices for prescription medication are much higher than in the rest of the world, and IMS Health data (used as a source for the quoted percentage) most likely covers a handful of other major markets, besides US, the cited percentage creates the desired (?) sensational effect. For some readers, familiar with the pharmaceutical industry, this instance of biasing inaccuracy may undermine credibility of author's use of other numbers and facts to support his conclusions. It is a worthy read, nonetheless, as long as the reader is prepared to think critically and make up own mind.

...and so is my seven year old son (who loves animals and creating characters and animals). The graphics seemed ripped out of the 80's. The gameplay was boring and uninspired. The animal customization (which is what drew us to this game) was very nil. Characteristics like 'needs love' or 'likes sound' is not my idea of animal customization. We downlaoded a trial version of 'Zoo vet' which appears far superior.

There are a lot of things you can do with $19.99 and buying this game should not be 1 of them. Customize your animals? Yes, you get a brown horse, every time, and you can vary it's size, length & sex. Brown & white dogs, black & white cats, vary the size, done. There are about 10 animals to choose from, about 7 toys, a handful of trees, a few shelters, a few toys, etc. Not much selection at all. This game was literally thrown together quick & thrown in the stores. I could poop something more interesting than this game, really. If you're 5 this might be fun more than a couple minutes, otherwise buy some string or rubberbands, you'll have more fun with them! I not only have a low opinion of this game, the company that made it just made my "do not buy from" list. What a rip-off!

Saw this when it was broadcast years ago and it still is one of The King's best performances. My wife and I are both Elvis fans and truly believe any fan needs this dvd. Issued by BMG through its budget-priced Special Products Division, it's a genuine bargain, offering state-of-the-art sound (for its time) and a very solid song list, including highlights from the preceding pair of LPs -- there's no "Nostradamus" but there's a superb "Roads To Moscow," in addition to the ubiquitous "Year Of The Cat" and "On The Border." And only in 1978, at a concert by Al Stewart, would a big portion of a rock concert audience applaud enthusiastically at the mention of Kurt Vonnegut's name (in the introduction to "Sirens Of Titan"). The band also breaks up the seriousness of Stewart's originals with an enjoyable rendition of Henry Mancini's "Pink Panther Theme," spotlighting Phil Kenzie's sax.
